This study is an investigation into the Impact of domestic violence against women in Lagos State, a case study of Ikeja Local Government Area.  To successfully carry out this research, data was gathered using questionnaire from respondents who are individuals living and working in Ikeja LGA. (150) one hundred and fifty questionnaire were administered. After critically analyzing  the data  that was collected, the results of the findings   has shown that the impact of  domestic vioelce against women  has physical, psychological and  long term damaging impact on women therefore,  there is a need  for all relevant stakeholders to join hands in reducing the rate of violence and impact of  domestic violence against women. In Nigerian society, lots of women are brutally treated by their intimate partners while they suffer in silence. In several cases, domestic violence leads to the death of these women. This should not be allowed to continue because women are central to the growth and development of any nation and the world at large. They are homemakers, custodians of social, cultural and fundamental values of the society; and permanent change is often best achieved through them. Full community development is impossible without their understanding, cooperation and effective participation. Considering all these, women deserve better treatment but opposite is usually the case. A wife who is pregnant during a domestic violence experience is prone to greater risk of miscarriage, pre-term labour, and injury to or death of the foetus. Therefore, the importance of more research work on the Impact of domestic violence against women can never be over emphasized.
